The Country Music Awards celebrated their 50th Anniversary on Wednesday, November 2nd. They pulled out all the stops. The star- studded night at the Bridgestone Arena featured performances from almost every living country great and too many outfits to count. You gotta love country music. While the rest of America follows fashion rules, the country music industry wears what they please. Emerging trends: Embroidered jackets for men and 80’s bling for women.
How can you not love Kelsea Ballerini’s flouncy floral skirt?
Circus ringleader? Fringed curtain? The prince from Cinderella? Whatever her inspiration, Elle King’s attitude rocked this.
Dierks sports a perfectly fitted three- piece suit and wife Cassidy Black stole the show every time the camera hit her navy sparkles.
Some of the dudes struggled with the black tie dress code. Not Randy Travis. That jacket says “country” AND slays.
Carrie’s CMA wardrobe changes are a running joke. For the show’s opening, she wore this showstopping paisley cape dress.
Mullet aside, Brad actually sports a pretty fly look. I want to steal Carrie’s Bob Mackie inspired dress.
Probably the closest we’ll get to Brad Paisley in actual paisley. I vote Yes on Embroidered Jacket for men.
I always pit Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood against Faith Hill and Tim McGraw. Trisha looked like country music royalty in her June Carter Cash- inspired ensemble. Faith Hill looked like a robot. Ladies, let Trisha be your case for avoiding plastic surgery.
The frightening Faith Hill.
Miranda Lambert is a bad bitch. She performed “Another Vice” in this black suit that nicely complemented her red carpet gown.
Miranda wears said gown, poses with new BF Anderson East
She’s not dead! She’s only 84! And you HOPE you look so good at her age! Loretta sported her signature red lace prairie dress for the stands, then shared the stage with Kacey Musgaves.
The best little songstress in Nashville poses with her Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award.
Taylor Swift and her stupid bangs made a guest appearance presenting the award for Entertainer of the Year. Not the worst of Tay Tay’s goth- grunge getups.
